Title insurance is always a requirement of mortgage lenders, but a lender's policy does nothing to protect your own equity in a home. Because of this, Frontier recommends owner policies that extend coverage to the owner of the property. Policy premiums vary depending upon the nature of the coverge, but generally range from $3.90 to $4.90 per thousand dollars of property value. This is a one time premium and not only protects the owner for as long as the property is owned, but also after the property is sold should a defect in title be identified at a later date.
